Moving from Letterboxd to CouchLegend
Coming from Letterboxd? Your film diary, ratings and watchlist can come with you, with the original watch dates kept. On CouchLegend you can then track TV shows episode by episode alongside your films.
How to import your Letterboxd films in 3 steps
- Export from Letterboxd. On letterboxd.com, go to Settings → Import & Export → Export your data. You’ll get a zip of CSV files.
- Make a free CouchLegend account at couchlegend.com/signup, then open Import.
- Upload the zip (or diary.csv, watched.csv, ratings.csv, watchlist.csv). Star ratings are converted (½ to 5 stars become 1 to 10), and we show you anything we couldn’t match.
Original watch dates are kept. Imported history counts for your stats, completion and badges and earns Archive XP; it never counts for leaderboards. Re-importing the same file is safe.

FAQ
Does my Letterboxd history come across?
Your films do: diary entries with their watch dates, watched films, star ratings and your watchlist. Reviews and custom lists aren’t imported.
Is CouchLegend free?
Yes. Tracking shows and films, every import, full data exports, levels, badges, leaderboards and the basic yearly Wrap are free. Premium is optional: £2.99 a month or £19.99 a year, and Lifetime Premium is a one-off £49.99 (Founding member price until 31 December 2026, then £69.99). Premium adds things like the full stats page, smart lists, every theme and unlimited new-episode alerts.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
The iPhone app is live on the App Store. The Android app is in testing; until it’s out, CouchLegend works in any browser on Android, and your account is the same everywhere.
Do imported watches count for leaderboards?
No. Imports count for your history, stats, completion and badges, and earn Archive XP so you don’t start at Level 1, but leaderboards only count live watching. Re-importing the same file is safe: nothing is counted twice.
Can I get my data out again?
Yes, any time and for free: Settings → Download my data gives you everything as a JSON file.
